In addition to tours and open house events, this summer’s Camp Adobe was very popular! During the ten-week summer program the Peña Adobe Historical Society hosted over 366 campers as they toured the Peña Adobe & Museum and learned of the Native Americans who lived here before the Vaca and Peña families arrived in 1841. Campers also visited with guests Alexis and her horse Marty, Kim from Bees Kneeds, and animals from Zingler Ranch & Lucky Ones animal sanctuaries. Campers learned about chores like laundry and making butter, just as the Peñas did in the 1800’s! We finished the summer camp season learning all about bugs with a visit from Dr. Geoffrey Attardo from UC Davis who shared his work in entomology!
